Originally established by local legend “Pansy” Ireland Poe, this property has a long and prosperous recreational history. Everything about it is first class, from its extensive landscaping, to numerous scenic riding and hiking trails, to Pansy’s original Honey Lake cottage. Numerous majestic, centuries-old live oak trees draped in Spanish moss adorn the property; you’ll see striking lush green pastures with black wooden fences, and catch a view of the plantation’s herd of sleek Tennessee Walking Horses.
The
prestigious Georgia-Florida Field Trial map marks
Honey Lake Plantation, which is near other famous
quail-hunting plantations, such as Dixie, Pinckney
Hill, Pinion Point, and Avalon.
Purchased in 2008 by successful entrepreneur Bob
Williamson, the property’s breathtaking beauty
continues to be enhanced by the Williamson family.
Williamson, who lives on the property, decided the
plantation was simply too magnificent and valuable a
regional treasure to keep it private, and decided to
offer limited public access — providing that it could
be accomplished without adversely affecting the
pristine quality of the property.

This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places in North Florida and could easily be a state or national park. The plantation encompasses some 4,700 acres, featuring its namesake Honey Lake, a spectacular 80-acre private lake that is one of the most gorgeous natural spring-fed lakes in all of North Florida and South Georgia. It is truly an outstanding gem in the region. The lake offers spectacular fishing and is teeming with largemouth bass and various species of bluegill, crappie, and other game fish. Unlike most lakes in this area, it is a clear, deepwater lake directly connected to the Florida Aquifer.
An enormous variety of habitat and wildlife fills Honey Lake Plantation, giving it a diversity not often found on most plantations. Vast acres of classic red-clay quail country — with rolling hills, 40-year old pines and sweeping native grasses — flows through the heart of the plantation. This is complemented with over 3½ miles of frontage on

Fish and game and otherwise rare wildlife are exceedingly abundant throughout, thanks in no small measure to the plantation’s carefully orchestrated conservation efforts, which include over 100 planted wildlife-feeding plots, dove fields, floodable duck ponds, and six well-fed, large fish ponds.
You truly must see it to fully comprehend its natural beauty. Come join us, won’t you?
