Not just hunters head south in the winter. The ducks do, too. And depending upon the annual migratory patterns, wood ducks, green-winged teal, and blue-winged teal arrive in mid-to-late December. Later on they’ll be joined by some mallards, black ducks, widgeon, and pintails. When the divers like redheads, bluebills and ringnecks finally arrive the shooting gets fast and furious.

Enjoy a cup of coffee and pastries in one of our several free-standing blinds camouflaged in natural grasses while our experienced guides use calls and whistles to decoy the birds. Duck hunting in the temperate North Florida climate means you don’t need to wear lots of layers. As our waterfowl are all wild, Honey Lake Plantation follows all State and Federal regulations for season dates and bag limits.
